Jagannath Venkappa Shetty is an Indian Banker[1] who has been the Chairman and Managing Director of Canara Bank, Chairman of Indian Banks' Association[2] from January 5, 1993 - August 16, 1994.He also headed the J. V. Shetty Banking Committee of India which decided on the crucial issue of consortium lending by Indian Banks.[3]After his retirement from Canara Bank, Shetty also was an Independent director of Global Trust Bank for a brief period.[4]
